Discover the Choucas botanical trail

Special features of the sunny slopes of the limestone Pre-Alps

The Choucas botanical trail features flora typical of the western limestone Pre-Alps. There are several rare plants, some of which are endemic. The lower part of the trail is very accessible, while the upper part is steeper.

The trail includes a loop and takes 2 hours to complete. Four botanical stations are described on panels at the start of each section of the trail. A fifth panel tells the story of the rock hays. On the first section, twelve trees or shrubs are labelled. On the third section, near the Choucas hut, 25 plants representative of the semi-dry meadows of the limestone Pre-Alps are labelled. A more complete list of the plant species that can be found on the trail can be found on the Park's website.
